3. Island Infrastructure:
Freshwater System:
20 ft. dug well under influence of surface water
Saltwater System:
Supply sea tables, fire demand and toilets
Wastewater System:
Grey and Black water to central wastewater treatment facility
Electrical System:
Three diesel powered generators

4. Course Objectives:
Provide preliminary (conceptual) design for infrastructure components that are “sustainable”
In this case “sustainable” means using island natural resources without external supplementation or remediation while maintaining normal island activities and island ecosystem

5. Course Requirements: Final Design Report
Oral Presentation of Design to Class

6. Course organizaton: 4 – 5 person design teams 2 lectures per week
1 in-class design period per week (design group meeting). Probably Fridays
