4. School Profile - Approximately 725-750 Students - Administration

5. School Day - 4 x 4 Block Schedule - 90 minute classes

Mandatory tutorials for students with grades 78% or lower until grades improve
- 2 Semesters in the School Year
- 1st semester (August - January)

9. Attendance - Attendance is taken in each class
- Any student who misses more than 5 days (lawful or unlawful) in any one class per semester has exceeded the TCS attendance policy requirements and is in jeopardy of losing credit
- Any absence beyond 5 in a semester must be made up time for time
- Absences after 5 (excused or unexcused time must be made up)

10. Attendance
- Any absence beyond 8 will be referred to the Administration
- Tardies – 3 Tardies = 1 absence (students have 5 minutes between classes)
- A failing grade of "FF" will be recorded for any course where a student is over the allowed absences and has not completed necessary make-up time by the final day of the semester.

11. Procedures
- If they arrive/depart by bus – dropped off and picked up in the front of the school
- If they arrive/depart by car – dropped off and picked up in the back of campus. Use the Gallimore Road entrance
- Universal Breakfast is served in the cafeteria before school starts
- The first bell rings at 8:00 and class begins at 8:05
- The last bell rings at 3:02
- Attendance Office
- Emergency- Call the front office

12. Dress Code WHAT TO WEAR:
-Pants, shorts, skirts, and dresses MUST be knee-length. Holes, slits, or tears in garments are not acceptable above the knee.
- All tops must be loose fitting and have sleeves with an appropriate neckline that is not revealing. Cleavage can not be visible at anytime
- All students must have shirts that are tucked in or long enough to cover the midsection when standing, leaning, bending, or sitting
- Hats may only be worn in the hallways
- No other type of headgear may be worn in the building
- Pants must be worn at the natural waistline
-Students should be dressed appropriately for the school setting at all times. School staff will ask them to alter dress, change, or otherwise correct any issue that is not appropriate for the school environment.

13. Bullying
“The school system will not tolerate inappropriate behavior or language by students or employees which result in bullying, harassment, and hazing based on actual or perceived differentiating characteristics or discrimination”
- Please seek out the administration, counselors, or a teacher if bullying is occurring so that we can address it!

14. Electronic Devices
- “No high school student shall use, have in view, or in their personal belongings an electronic device during the school day (8:00am – 3:00pm)
- You may have your cell phone turned off in your locker

16. Ways you can help your teen...
- Help them set goals (Be specific, Be realistic, Make them time-based, Make a plan)
- Be an active part of registering for courses (in the spring)
- Help your teen with organization (Make sure they are prepared, ask them what their organization method is)
- Help your teen manage time wisely (Plan for multiple assignments, break up big tasks, avoid putting things off until the last minute, prioritize)

- Help with homework (create a good study space, make it a habit, stay on task)
- Teach your teen healthy habits (eat, sleep, stress management, etc)
- Talk and listen to them about....

- Conferences with teachers/administrators/school counselors
- Attend School Events (athletics, open houses, award ceremonies, plays, art shows, talent shows, etc.)
