What do the letters in LGBTQ stand for?
Lesbian is used to describe a female whose enduring physical, romantic, and/or emotional attraction is to other females. Gay is used to describe a male whose enduring physical, romantic, and/or emotional attraction is to other males. Some females identify as gay rather than lesbian. Bisexual describes an individual who is physically, romantically, and/or emotionally attracted to both male and female. Transgender is an umbrella term for people whose gender identity and/or gender expression differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. Questioning refers to individuals who are unsure of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
