Our daily routines Cloakroom Get set time, lunches and self register
Class timetable, visual timetable Snack and lunch Buddies PE The children enter the cloakroom and change into their indoor shoes. They then go into class, select their lunch option on the self register on the smart board. They have 15 minutes of play before going over the class visual timetable of what they are doing that day. School dinners are ordered first thing in the morning. We meet up with our P7 buddies for 20 minutes at the end of the day on Tuesdays to do a variety of things such as practise our ball skills or share a story. We have PE on a Thursday. Shorts and t-shirts must be named and are kept in school until a clean set is sent in. 09/12/2018

Maths and language Maths: Language: Focus on basic skills
A variety of resources Oral; problem solving; whole class;groups Language: Reading Writing Talking and listening Initial focus will be learning to recognise, write and count within 10 using Number Zoo.(show) learning about number value, estimation, counting 1 to 1 accurately, using language of before, after, more, less. More able extended with numbers to 20 on computer etc. Rest of the year – numbers to 20 (ordering), addition, subtraction, counting in 10s to 100, number value to 100. maths – shape, data handling, measure, position and movement, halves, days, months, time (o clocks), money – try to link in with current topic and to make relevant.We will do interactive/oral work each lesson – often as whole class As mentioned above, where natural links with topics occur, maths will be incorporated, ensuring meaningful learning. Language – Reading - library books (enjoyment, discussion). Learning sounds through Jolly phonics (multisensory, fun), blending sounds, tricky words, reading books once blending. Writing – (show jotter) start with picture detail, telling sentence to adult, writing on top, copying writing, using wordbank, writing easy words by themselves, phonetic spelling Talking and listening will permeate all lessons – discussions, taking turns, show and tell, class teddy etc. – developing confidence and respect for one another. 09/12/2018

ICT These are main topics - I am at school (growing, schools in past), Scotland, Toys, Materials, Senses, Gruffalo, (British plants and animals) People who help us but there are also termly whole school focuses e.g. Financial education, Enterprise, Scotland, Health and Fitness ICT in class used everyday – smartboard, computer, cameras 09/12/2018

Learner’s Journeys Learner’s Journeys Profile jotters 09/12/2018
Nursery folders will be continuing. Parents will get an opportunity to come in and look at these with their child. They will be sent home at the end of the year. Profile jotters – the children’s work for a week 2x year is put into these. They will be added to each year and the children will get a record of all their time at primary school when they leave P7. 09/12/2018

Team Teaching Literacy/Numeracy, RME/Health, PE/Topic Mr Paul – Music
Mr Barrowman - Art The P1 teachers team teach. Initially Mrs Cook is teaching Literacy, RME and PE to all the P1s and Miss walker is teaching Maths, Health and Topic. On Wednesdays Mr Paul takes both classes for Music and Mr Barrowman takes both classes for Art. 09/12/2018
