Panel (B) shows a broad-based regurgitant jet across the tricuspid valve by colour-flow Doppler. Panel (C) highlights the classic ‘dagger-shaped’ continuous wave Doppler pattern of the regurgitant jet which results from rapid pressure equalisation in the right atria and ventricle.
