The T-JTA Computer Scoring Program Version 8.0 for Windows allows you to:  Input and Edit Answer Sheets  Generate Plotted Profiles  Generate Brief or Interpretative Reports  Generate Report Sheets or Report Booklets  Generate Trait Suggestion Sheets Input test data 2 ways  Take T-JTA on the computer using the software program  Manually key in responses from Answer Sheet 3 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

 Scoring and Profiling  5 Profiles created for Criss-Cross testing  Profiles can be can be produced on: Pre-printed T-JTA Shaded or Sten Profile forms Plain paper – Select from 4 profile types. Profile is printed on plain white paper. 4 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

5 T-JTA Software Output Options
Brief Reports 7-9 Pages  Provide a concise summary in table format of the attitude scale sten score, the raw scores, percentiles, sten scores and Mid scores for the nine T-JTA traits (A-I)  Contain scores on 8 additional supplemental scales, 1 additional validity scale, and one new syndrome  Indicate the presence of certain trait combinations that have clinical significance, called Trait Patterns  Lists trait areas of particularly good or poor adjustment  Lists “key” questions and their responses 5 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

6 T-JTA Software Output Options
Interpretive Reports Pages Includes all features of the Brief Report PLUS:  Provides a definition of each Trait (A-I) followed by an interpretation of the clinical significance of that score  Lists all questions and responses for each trait category (A-I). Questions are grouped into narrower categories within each trait, called “response themes”  Delineates similarities and differences on T-JTA Traits, Trait Patterns, and Supplemental Scales. Pertinent areas of disagreement are identified (See sample excerpt below) “ROBERT scores himself at the 34th percentile. His Sten score is 5. JOAN scores him at the 66th percentile. Her Sten score is 6. Sten difference is 1.” 6 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

7 T-JTA Software Output Options
Report Sheets  The Report Sheet is a one page summary sheet that lists T-JTA Traits that the respondent has indicated are areas of strength, or areas where attention may be needed. Total Mids and Attitude Scale Sten Scores are also listed. Report Booklets  The Report Booklet is 7-8 pages in length and includes an introduction to the T-JTA, information about T-JTA profiles, validity scales and descriptions of each of the 9 bipolar trait categories, followed by a statement indicating the respondent’s areas of “strength” or an area “where attention may be needed.” 7 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

9 T-JTA Language Options
The T-JTA Computer Scoring Software can be administered in the following languages: English French Spanish German Korean Chinese  To administer in a language other than English (default), click on the “Language” option from the main menu and select your preferred language. 10 Coupon Usage Coupon Counter
 This program contains a coupon counter that stores the number of scoring coupons purchased.  The counter decrements the coupons when answer sheets are scored and when reports are produced.  The number of coupons decremented is based on the type of report and the scoring choice selected.  After the initial purchase, additional coupons may be purchase in increments of: 25 50 100 200 10 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

12 Program Overview     

14 Utility Menu The utility menu offers many important choices for the maintenance of your program. Enter Counselor’s Name – Select this option to include the counselor’s name on profiles and reports, if desired. The counselor’s name is blank when the software is created. Change Password – As shipped, the program password is blank allowing the counselor to select one if desired. If a password is not selected, clicking “OK” will take you to the main menu. Change Password Clue – Store a clue the current password. The clue is revealed when “Password Clue” button on password screen is clicked. 14 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

15 Utility Menu Change Counselor Name – This option is used to add the counselor’s name to profiles and reports. Change Password – This option allows you to password protect your program. Password Clue - Store a clue to help remember password. Add Coupons – This option is used to add additional coupons to your program. A coupon code is obtained from PPI when more coupons are needed. Adding coupons in an interactive process requiring access to your program. Current Coupon Count – Check the number of coupons available. Convert Coupons – This function allows you to move coupons from a prior installation of the program. Report Coupons – Use this option to move files received via to their proper folders. 15 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

17 Administration on Screen
Select ADMINISTER from the TESTS menu.  Instructions for administration are presented on screen. After reading the instructions, click “Next” to go to the Biographical Data screen. 17 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

18 Administration on Screen
 The respondent will need to enter all of the following information:  Date of Administration (Hit “Enter” for today’s date)  Biographical data (Name, Age, Sex, and Marital Status)  The individual to whom the answers apply (Self, Another)  If “Another” the biographical data of the other  If “Another” the respondent’s relationship to the other  Question Edition preferred for administration:  Regular (8th Grade Reading Level)  Secondary (5th Grade Reading Level) 18 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

19 Administration on Screen
Select ACCEPT to save the information and move to the test questions. Select QUIT to return to the Main Menu without saving the information.  As 180 questions are presented one at a time, follow the key code to select your answer. Selections are displayed on screen after each question is answered.  To change an answer, click on the question # and response displayed at the top of the screen. The question will reappear and the answer can be re-submitted.  If there are more than 30 Mids, test-takers can change answers at the prompt until no more can be adjusted. Select QUIT AND SAVE to save the answer sheet and return to the main menu. Repeat administration steps for tests “on another.” 19 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

20 Transcribing Answer Sheets
When tests have been taken on the handscoring answer sheet, they can be entered into the program via simple transcription. Select TRANSCRIBE from the TESTS menu.  The person doing the transcription must complete the biographical data about the test taker as described in the “Administration on Screen” Instructions above. Select ACCEPT to save the information and move to the test questions. Select QUIT to return to the Main Menu without saving the information.  Next, the numbers are displayed. The transcriber selects 4 (+), 5 (Mid), or 6 (-) to enter the answer for each. 20 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

21 Transcribing Answer Sheets
 To change an answer, click on the question # and re-enter the response. When finished with an answer sheet, select QUIT AND SAVE to move it into the “Tests” directory.  A prompt will appear to take the test on another person. Select “Yes” to return to the biographical screen for the next answer sheet.  Select “No” to return to the Main Menu for batching. 21 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

23 Batching Answer Sheets
A batch is defined as one or more groups of answer sheets intended to be processed at the same time. Batch groups define the relationships of multiple answer sheets relating to one or more persons, such as in a Criss-Criss Test. The type of report and profile to be generated is also selected in this step. The batching of all answer sheets (even a single test) is required before tests can be scored. Select BATCHES – “Create or Add” from the Scoring Main Menu  Select an option from the Group Type textbox. (This type determines the number of Test Input Windows displayed on the right: 1 for Self Test; 4 for Criss-Cross, etc.)  Select an option from the Report Type textbox. (The amount of coupons used in the “Scoring” step is determined by this selection.) 24 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

25 Batching Answer Sheets
 Select an option from the Profile Type textbox.  If you select an option under Plain Paper Profile, the program will generate a background and shading along with the data and graph.  If you select Pre-printed Profile Paper, the program will just fill in the names and numbers and draw the graph lines on a T-JTA Profile you have loaded in the paper tray. 25 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

26 Batching Answer Sheets
 Next, click on the answer sheets from the “Test File List” to be group together in one “batch.”  These tests will automatically be moved into the Test Number Input Windows. Answer Sheet Who’s Who: If you are not sure what answer sheet number applies to which test-taker, click on the Help menu – List tests. The Answer Sheet Who’s Who screen will appear providing the names. 27 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

 Finally, save the batch by clicking the SAVE GROUP button.  You are asked to input a “Batch File Number” to identify the batch for scoring. Use a number as opposed to a name for identification.  If you are adding to an existing batch, re-enter the original batch number when prompted.  To create a new batch, use a new batch number. NOTE  To double check your batch files before scoring, click on the Help menu – List Batch Files. 28 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

30 Scoring Answer Sheets Select SCORING - “Score Batches” from the Scoring Main Menu.  From the “Batch Files” list that appears, double click on the batch to be scored.  Once a batch number has been selected and appears in the window, click PRESS TO SCORE for scoring to begin.  A DONE button will appear when the scoring for each batch is complete. Click on this button. Repeat these steps for other batches to be scored, or click EXIT to move to the next step. 30 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

31 Re-Scoring Answer Sheets
If the batch being processed contains a previously scored answer sheet, the following warning message will be displayed:  If no changes have been made to an answer sheet or a paired group since the previous scoring, do not re-score it as this will unnecessarily use additional coupons. 31 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

33 Creating and Printing Profiles
Select PROFILES– “Create and Print” from the Scoring Main Menu. (The following screen is displayed.)  If the printer listed is not the one you wish to print to, select the PRINTER menu from the main menu for a list of other network printers to choose from.  Double click on the alternate printer to designate it as the default printer for the duration of the current scoring session. 33 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

Printing on Plain Paper  If you selected plain paper during batching, make sure your printer contains this paper.  Double click on the batch file you want to print.  When this file appears in the “Enter batch Number to Process” box, click on PRESS TO PRINT.  Your Profiles will now print to the selected printer.  Repeat these steps until all batches have been printed. Printing on Pre-Printed Profile Forms  To print on pre-printed Profiles, you must align your printer each time you print.  To align your printer, click on PRINTERS—Align Printer  Follow the complete instructions on screen to test and adjust the plot settings. 35 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

Printing on Pre-Printed Profile Forms  Click on “Save Alignment Settings to Disk” if you will be using the same printer each time.  When the test profile has printed correctly, click on the SAVE AND RETURN TO PLOT button.  Insert Pre-printed Profile Forms into your printer.  Double click on the batch file you want to print.  When it appears in the box, click on PRESS TO START. 36 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

Select REPORTS – “Create Reports Only” from the Scoring Main Menu.  Double click on the batch file you want to create.  When this file appears in the “Enter batch Number to Process” box, click on PRESS TO START.  When the batch number is erased from the window, the print files for this batch have been created. NOTE: The number of Coupons for the report specified by the batch files are deducted as reports are created. 1.bch 38 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

Next, select REPORTS– “Print Existing Reports” from the Scoring Main Menu.  By Batch Number By Batch Number -- Double click on the batch file you want to print. -- When this file appears in the “Enter batch Number to Process” box, click on PRESS TO START. -- When the batch number is erased from the window, the print files have been sent to the print spooler. 39 PPI 2018 12/9/2018

Printing Report Sheets or Report Booklets  From the REPORTS menu, select “Report booklets.”  Select Report Sheets or Report Booklets (each uses same number of coupons.) Click on PRINT BOOKLETS for the list of batches. 40 PPI 2018 12/9/2018
