1 Arthur’s Coat of Arms Create a coat of arms to represent King Arthur
Follow the directions below to complete the activity. Visit the website to view symbols used in Coats of Arms. Go to You will be creating a coat of arms to represent Arthur. Begin by choosing a shield shape. Choose a color to best represent Arthur based on the Heraldry Symbols and Meanings website. Click on step 2 and type in the name Arthur. Click on step 3 and type in a motto that you feel Arthur would believe in. Click step 4 and choose four values that fit Arthur. Click step 5 and choose four symbols to go with those values. Use the Heraldry Symbols and Meanings website as a guide to symbol meanings. Drag each symbol you’d like to use onto the shield. Click step 6. Type in YOUR NAME and YOUR TEACHER’S address. On a sheet of paper, write a paragraph explaining why you choose each symbol to represent Arthur. Use evidence from the text to support your answer. This task uses: Common Core/NG Standard(s): RL Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
