The First Emporer Do you know who the first emperor of China was? Well, here’s your answer. The first emperor of China was Zheng. Zheng won his title. Maybe that’s why he was so cruel to his people. No one knows.

The Terra- cotta Warriors
The Terra-cotta Warriors are clay warriors guarding Zheng’s tomb. These clay warriors are portraits of soldiers in the Qin army. Each Terra-cotta Warrior has a different face expression. The Terra-cotta Warriors used to carry real weapons, but after Zheng was long gone, tomb robbers stole these weapons.

Bad Zheng! Zheng was very cruel. Zheng forced people to work on his big projects such as the Great Wall. Lots of workers died on the Great Wall project. Zheng was also selfish. He burned all of the books that addressed ideas that weren’t his own.

Wierd Zheng Zheng was kind of crazy. He drank lead to preserve his life. Yuck!! Lead is poisonous, so he was basically killing himself. Wouldn’t it be weird if you saw the president on the street drinking lead? You would probably go nuts. You would probably yell, “Hey, stop that! Lead is POISONOUS!” Not back then. They didn’t know lead was poisonous. You could also get your head chopped off for yelling at the emperor. Overall, Zheng was a strict and kind of confusing emperor.
