NOV 2004 Introduction Two contributions were submitted in Sep meeting to address the importance of considering military usage case in the IEEE s Usage Models “Military Usage Case”, J. Hauser (NRL), D. J. Shyy (MITRE), Max Green (MCTSSA), 11-04/1006r0 “Usage Cases and Functional Requirements for Mesh Networking: A Military Perspective”, William Kasch, Jack Burbank (John Hopkins/APL), 11-04/1016r0 These two contributions highlight Mesh networking capability is something that the military needs today Military has a strong buying power if the 11s products meet their requirements Military would like to leverage on commercial products with some military enhancements D. NOV 2004 Way Forward Option 1: Introduce a new usage case in the s Usage Model document May create too many usages cases in the document Option 2: Merge with an existing usage case in the s Usage Model document Can we find an existing usage case which has similar attributes as the military usage case? How About Merging with Public Safety Usage Case?
NOV 2004 How About Merging with Public Safety Usage Case? The public safety usage case shares many common requirements with the military usage case.
