Defined as the minimum amount of force needed to gain compliance and control. Not the same as minimum force.

Recognizing The Threat
Early Behavioral Signals Assault Is Imminent Signals

Reaction To Threat Feet shoulder width apart. Hands resting in front of the body above the waist line. Strong side back leaving weak side towards the subject. Knees slightly bent. Eyes straight forward watching subject for all clues. Reactionary gap. Self controlled demeanor Relaxed and non-threatening – Not Complacent

Rule #1 If the incident goes beyond Verbal Warning, you must have the incident recorded on video.
