1 Male Genital Tract I, Case 1
A 32-year-old previously healthy man presents with a painless mass in his left testicle which he noticed about 1month ago.

2 Identify the organ Identify the structures Describe the gross findings

3 A – Tunica albuginea B – Normal parenchyma C – Neoplasm (seminoma) Seminoma The surgical specimen consists of a bisected testicle revealing a tan, irregular neoplasm.

4 Describe the low power histologic findings
Normal testis Seminoma

5 Describe the high power histologic findings
Inflammatory cells (mostly lymphocytes) Connective tissue trabecula Tumor cells Are uniform, contain abundant clear cytoplasm and large vesicular nuclei with prominent nucleoli.

6 Seminoma. The neoplasm is composed of nests of uniform cells(B) containing large, vesicular nuclei with prominent nucleoli. The nests of neoplastic cells are separated by fibrous tissue trabeculae which contain lymphocytes and plasma cells (A)
