2. Need for Low Carbon Transportation
ARB funds low carbon vehicle technologies including zero emission vehicles (ZEV)
ZEVs reduce emissions in impacted communities and are quickly coming down in price, but still need substantial assistance
Local cost share is an effective way to bring more Cap & Trade revenue to the region
Prepare for future regulations

Electric School Bus
Zero Emission Delivery Vans
Low NOx CNG Construction Trucks
Electric Delivery Truck (Sacramento)

4. SECAT Program Guideline Changes
Overarching Goals
Maximum leverage of state Low Carbon Transportation funds
Maximum level of Community Air Protection (AB617)
Promote transformative technology in the transportation sector
Approved Changes
Make conventional diesel replacement vehicles ineligible
Streamline application and focus on community fleets
Eliminate minimum annual usage requirements and other updates

5. SECAT Funding Amounts
Fleets that purchase zero emission vehicles can qualify for up to $100,000 without scrapping an old vehicle
Matching funds of up to $245,000 from state and potential to leverage with other Cap & Trade solicitations
Other funding available for charging infrastructure (state and VW Mitigation Funds)

6. Impact on Sacramento Region
Promote low carbon transportation in the region
Help District meet Community Air Protection (AB617) goals by funding vehicles that typically operate in and around population centers
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Sacramento while continuing to displace diesel vehicles and improve regional air quality
Save $$$ with lower fuel and maintenance

Do not initial first section about multiple grants and do not include old vehicle information for ZEV
$7.5 million split in SACOG region by population
First-come, first-served application by county
Unfunded applications will be saved 7
