Write a brief thank you ( ) within 24 hours after the conversation.
Stay connected with your contact by on special occasions. For example, when there is an important status change in your professional life. ie) when you have secured a practicum, you have started a part time internship, you graduated, or you found a job! A brief thanking them for the support they provided on your career journey goes a long way.
This approach with your connections will help build your career community.
