Benefits of Learning Swimming for Children
2
v v Health and Fitness 1. Swimming uses every one of the body’s major muscle groups and is a fantastic aerobic activity to get your child’s heart pumping. Plus, it’s a low- impact activity that increases flexibility and remains the sport least likely to cause injuries in kids. 2. Participating in a sport reduces the risk of childhood obesity, which is also linked to juvenile diabetes. Swimming is great for cardiovascular benefits that promote heart and lung health.
3
Strength and Coordination 1. You need to synchronize what your arms and legs are doing, along with coordinating your breathing and other body movements. Swimming helps with coordination and strength in other, out-of-water situations as a result.
4
Social Skills 1. Swimming classes are held in groups of children of a similar age and ability. Your child will be able to mix with children outside of school and learn valuable social skills. This will help your kid to make friends in a different environment.
5
Water Safety 1. Learning to swim is hugely important to ensure your child is safe around water. There are lots of situations when your child might come into contact with water throughout their lives, and unless they learn to swim they will be in danger in these situations. Your child will be prepared should anything happen in the water.
