5 How far did you remember…? Concept: An author’s purpose is his reason for or intent in writing. An author’s purpose may be to amuse the reader, to persuade the reader, to inform the reader. 8 Do you know how the game “Musical Chairs” be played…? “Musical Chairs” At least five players are needed. Chairs, one less than the number of players and music are also needed. Arrange the chairs in a circle. Have the players do the following. 1.Walk or dance around the circle of chairs while the music plays. 2.Grab a chair to sit on when the music stops. 3.Eliminate the player who does not find a chair. 4.Remove one chair and begin the game again. 5.Do steps 1 to 4 until only one player is left. 6.Declare the player who stays on as the winner.

29 Always remember that…. Concept: Imperative sentences are used to issue a command or instruction, or offer advice. Basically, they tell people what to do To make an affirmative imperative, use the base form of the verb with no conjugation. Ex. Close the door. Open the window. To make a negative imperative, use do + not + base verb Ex. Do not go in my bedroom. Don’t eat junk foods.
