NAVIGATION DISPLAY CONSIDERATIONS Navigation information used by the pilot for steering commands and to monitor deviation from a navigation path shall be in the pilot's primary FOV. Warnings and cautions shall also be in the primary FOV. If information from more than one navigation source can be presented, the selected source should be continuously indicated to the pilot. If multiple sources can be presented simultaneously, the display should indicate unambiguously what information is provided by each source and which one has been selected for guidance. CERTIFICATION OF NAVIGATION SYSTEMS To certify an advanced navigation system, it must take into account the conditions and airspace infrastructure for which will approve Is therefore very important that the competent authority has issued relevant guidance material (AMC), with the certification criteria The review and understanding of this guidance material is essential before starting any certification process Most of the information must be provided by equipment manufacturer (OEM) They often prepared a checklist (Checklist), to facilitate the task of operators and authorities 2016RNAV-RNP CERTIFICATION SUMMARY25

WORKING METHOD FOR RNAV/RNP CERTIFICATION Determine the AMC/AC to be used according with the scope of the TC/STC application (See the proposed draft for AFMS) Prepare the Compliance Matrix (CCL) against the corresponding AMC/AC Get from OEM the following data: –Manuals for Equipment Installation & Operation –Equipment Qualification Data & Failure Analysis –Evidence of previously approved installations –Ground & Flight Test Procedures –Draft of AFM Supplement Consider the need to perform flight tests on sites that meet certain conditions (Runways with Approach Procedures published) Agree with the Authority the participation in Certification Test RNAV-RNP CERTIFICATION SUMMARY262016
