2 What is a Title I School? Title I is a federally funded program which provides services to schools based on student economic needs. Cobb County has 46 schools with 50% or more students participating in the school Meal program. The purpose of Title I under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of (ESEA) is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. Schools that have a high number of students receiving free or reduced lunch. In Cobb County has 45 schools with 50% or more students participating in the school lunch program. Smitha is

Funds are used to obtain a high-quality education for all of our students by highly qualified faculty and staff. Improve academic achievement based on the GA Milestones EOG scores Increase Reading performance by 10% Raise Math Scores of proficient or above up by 5% Increase Writing (ELA) proficiency to an average of 2.0 Use Positive Behavior Intervention (PBIS) to reduce referrals by 5%

Grades 6-8 End of the Grade Assessment: Georgia Milestone Grades 6-8 Student Learning Objective (SLO) Grade 7 Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) Grade 7 Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) Grade 8 PSAT End of the Course Test (EOC)- for Advanced & High School Courses

10 Teacher Professional Qualifications (2 min.)
Notification of Highly Qualified Teacher and Paraprofessional Status (Parent’s right to know) Parent Information Guide District and school Policies are distributed to families annually during conferences, posted on school and Title I websites.

11 Title I Parent and Family Engagement Funding
Title I Schools each receive $4300 to dedicate to Parent Engagement activity.

Parent Resource Center supplies Computer Access Study Tools and Guides for parents to use in the home Parent Workshops Parent Facilitator, dedicated staff to increase parent engagement
