1 Welcome to Curriculum Night Leave Your Mark!

Agenda Bring it to school everyday. This is used to: Communicate between parents & teachers Record behavior Record assignments Record important dates Record changes in transportation Record dress code violations

4 Your child’s attendance is importance to us.
Good attendance is critical to a child’s success in school. Please have your child arrive to school no later than 8:30a.m. In the event that your child is absent, please provide a note indicating the reason for the absence. Please try to limit absences/tardies/check-outs to 6 or less. Parents will receive a letter from the school after the child’s 5th absence. Ten or more absences could result in failure. Perfect Attendance is rewarded at the end of the year.

Communication The gold communication folder is sent home each day. Please remove the papers in the “Keep at Home” pocket. Please return any papers in the “Return to School” pocket. This folder will contain graded work, important information from the office, and any work in progress (morning work spiral math sheet and LARS). Send this folder back to school each day. Communication is important to us. If you ever have a question or concern please contact us by phone or . Please understand that we may not be able to conference with you during drop-in visits to our classroom/lunchroom.

6 Classroom Rules Rule 1.Be prepared for each day.
Rule 2. Listen and follow directions. Rule 3. Raise your hand to speak. Rule 4. Respect others. Rule 5. Neatly complete all work. Rule 6. Put forth your best effort.

7 Behavior Plan The Wolf Way Rewards:
Paw print stamps, positive notes, free time, stickers, extra recess, extra computer time, treats Consequences: warning, parent notification, isolation in another classroom, loss of recess (laps), loss of one or more privileges, referral to the counselor, opportunity room, out of school suspension.

8 Homework Social Studies and Science
-Review study guides for unit tests. Math -Math worksheet most nights (check agenda and folder) -Practice math facts. Language Arts study for LARS quiz given every two weeks Reading Read each night for at least 20 minutes. Have books to read everyday. We have time to read in class too.

12 We will have a snack time each day around 10:00.
Please send a healthy snack each day for your child. You may send a water bottle for your child.

13 Reminders Please be sure to label all personal belongings. With the frequent movement in the building, things are often misplaced. Please be aware that your child can bring a ball from home to be used on the playground; however if the ball goes over the fence we can not retrieve it.

Buford Academy School – Parent – Student Compact This compact is a written agreement describing how we all agree to share the responsibility for student learning. If you have not already received a copy of this agreement, please let us know. They are also available for pick up in the rack at the front of the building on the wall outside the front office.

18 Title I We need your input for Title Funds.  Mrs. Pulley is open for suggestions on ways to best use Title funds to meet the needs of all students.  You may her at Ways we currently use Title funds are:  Technology, Paraprofessionals, Summer School, After School/Saturday School, and Professional Development for teachers.
