(A) TNL receptor mRNAs are targeted by NMD under normal conditions (top). Bacterial infection leads to NMD suppression, resulting in TNL accumulation and an immune response (bottom).
(B) PVX and SFV viral (+)RNAs are subject to degradation via NMD in plants and mammalian cells, respectively (top). In the course of virus infection NMD becomes inhibited, facilitating viral replication (bottom).
