Cesar Chavez was the most influential Latino activist
Fought for rights for farm laborers
Most workers were migrant farmworkers
Traveling from farm to farm and state to state
Chavez created a union for farmworkers
Combined with a Filipino farm laborers union
Created United Farm Workers (UFW)
Used nonviolent tactics
Used strikes and consumer boycotts
