Tips for supporting CALD communities better:
Migrant communities are ageing at a faster rate than the general population 2. Know and engage with your local community 3. Learn about cultural, language, religious and food preferences 4. Employ bilingual and multilingual staff 5. Promote your services, incl. bilingual information 6. Ensure that your services are culturally and linguistically appropriate 7. Obtain the 2016 Census data in August 2017 Attend multicultural events, Iftar dinners, Halal expo, quails are considered a delicacy by the Coptic Egyptians, Customer choice will increase. AMCS is learning every day…. Eg Italian and Greek seniors almost always say, ring my daughter or ring my son, when we contact them about aged care services – give an example of how we organised staff to speak to Italian and Greek clients 25/12/2018
