2 EAHSN Projects 1. Severe Acute Hypoglycaemic Episodes
Estimated 45-50’000 attendances over 5 years EAHSN area 300’000 people with diabetes, 50% on treatments associated with hypo’s Reduced Mortality, Morbidity and Fear. Support clinical teams on educating awareness of SAHE. Aim to reduce the proportion of repeat callers in East of England. 50% reduction repeat caller rate would reduce costs by £1.52m.

3 EAHSN Projects 2. Pre-Pregnancy Care
Improve awareness/access to PPC for T2D women (currently 30% attend) Improve quality of PPC for women with T1D who do not attend (currently <50% T1D who attend achieve Hba1c <7%) Target hard to reach high risk women with T1D or T2D (previously poor outcomes) Leaflet mailing sent out via primary care to reach target audience 2 Specialist Midwives to provide women with support and education. Development of e-learning packages for health care professionals

Sign in as a new candidate If newly registered, you will need to enter: Basic personal details and what level/role you are. Registration key code. Create a password. If already registered enter your address and password.

5 My Learning Click on ‘Click here to select a Topic’
You can then choose any of the topics shown. It will show topics which you have ‘completed’ and those which are ‘incomplete’

6 Topics and Competencies
Once you have selected a Topic, CDEP will then display a list of competencies for you to take.

7 Competency Questions Once you have clicked on a competency you will then be asked a set of multiple choice questions. If you do not get 100% correct you can retake the competency 3 times before being redirected to the appropriate literature to read.

8 Learning Resources If you would like to read up on a topic before carrying out the e-learning or because you failed a competency, you can click on the ‘Resources’ tab, select the topic required and it will list a vast selection of reading material.

9 Completing a Topic Once you have completed all the questions correctly, it will show your score as 100% On completion of all the competencies for a topic, it will then give you the opportunity to print off a certificate, which is valid for 2 years.

10 Summary Free e-learning offered to GP’s, Practice Nurses and Diabetes Nurse Specialists Register for 5 different learning levels (From Core through to Consultant) Certificates for all modules completed Very flexible learning (don’t need to allocate large amounts of time to complete) Vast amount of reference/learning material CDEP is based on a series of national diabetes competency frameworks The course has gained endorsement from Cambridge University Health Partners, Diabetes UK and the British Dietetic Association’s specialist diabetes group - Diabetes Management and Education Group (DMEG).
