Complete Sentences

Every sentences as a central verb, whether it is one or more words.
That verb is called the simple predicate! A verb is an action word. Every sentence also has a noun or pronoun that the sentence is mostly about. It’s the noun or pronoun that does the action in the sentence –or gets linked to something else. That noun or pronoun is called the simple subject! A noun is a person, place, or thing. A pronoun replaces a noun with words like: he, she, it, they, we

Subjects and Predicates
Subjects and Predicates are parts of a sentence. You must always have a subject and predicate in a sentences to make it complete.

Subject Definition: the part of a sentence stating the person or thing being discussed. Drawing: Examples: A dog A girl A tree Non-Example: Wagged Swimming Swayed

Predicate Definition: the part of a sentence or clause containing a verb and stating something about the subject. Drawing: Examples: Went walking Carved the turkey Jumped for joy Non-Examples: Girl Boy Tree
