Most of our Earth is covered with ocean water.

Water from the oceans is salt water.

Water from the oceans move up into the sky. Water in the sky is fresh water.

Water flows down the mountain as a stream.

Streams carry their fresh water to rivers.
Rivers carry fresh water to all parts of our Earth. Some of the water moves back into the sky.

Lakes are very large puddles of water
Lakes are very large puddles of water. The fresh water in lakes can be very deep. Some of the lake water goes back up into the sky.

Fresh water from rivers flow back into the ocean.

Rain from the sky puts water back into the oceans, streams, rivers, and lakes.

This cycle of water lets us use water over and over again.
That’s why we need to keep our water clean.
