Vista Point Trail Option: A simple, convenient means to move the majority of visitor bikers to a dedicated bike trail Would improve bike safety and reduce bike-car traffic on Alexander (Majority of bike accidents are in the park service property: 50 accidents in 2013) Is less steep and more attractive than west side alternative Already proposed in DOT-funded research (but NOT prioritized) Would reduce speeds of bikes entering Sausalito and provide a safe area for tourists to stop prior to entering Sausalito (North end of East Road.) This is also an optimal place for signs and Ambassador engagement.
