Pope refused Henry’s request to divorce Parliament named Henry the Supreme Head of the Church Henry closed all the monasteries - affected England very much Robert Aske led the Pilgrimage of Grace to protest (executed) Henry was not opposed to the main Catholic teachings Henry died

Edward VI Became King at the age of nine 1547 - Chantries were closed
new Protestant Prayer Book Stone altars replaced, vestments were simplified, statues and stained glass windows were smashed up Catholic protesters
