3. How to carry a microscope:
Use 2 hands, one on the base and one on the arm.
Carry the microscope upright.

4. How to focus on low power:
Put the slide in place and raise the stage up using the coarse adjustment (big knob)
Turn the low power objective (10x) into place.
Focus by turning the large coarse adjustment knob to raise the stage only.
Finish focusing using the small fine adjustment knob (little knob) to sharpen the image.

5. How to focus on high power:
Repeat all of the steps for low power first
turn the high power objective (40x) into place without moving the stage
Turn the small fine adjustment knob only to finish focusing the details.
Field of View = the area you see when looking through the eyepiece.

6. How to put the microscope away:
Remove the slide
Put objective on low (scan) power (4x)
Lower stage all the way down
Wrap the cord
Point the eyepiece outward over the arm.
Put cover over microscope.
