To Do list Make sure that you understand the critical information that you learned from yesterday before going onto today’s project. Open your notebooks and underline and highlight the three sub topics of symbiosis. Start the symbiosis project.

What is symbiosis? Literal definition: the act of living together What it means: Two organisms that live together Temporarily or for a longer time At least one of the organisms benefits from the relationship

What are the different kinds of symbiosis?
Mutualism Commensalism Parasitism one organism benefits both organisms benefit one organism benefits one organism is unaffected one organism is harmed

Symbiosis Project Yesterday you learned new information regarding the start of our Ecology unit. Today we will be taking this information and applying or processing it in the form of an analogy project.

Symbiosis Assignment Due: Tuesday, April 14, 2015 Choose from one of the following ideas to create a representation of symbiotic relationship. Symbiotic City Create a city. The city needs to be similar to a real city. (Ex: All cities have a name.) Cities have businesses, houses, and families. The city must fill the page and have a minimum of 4 colors. There must be at least two paragraphs about the city and relationships in the city, written on the back of the page. Symbiotic Travel Brochure Create a travel brochure. The brochure needs to be similar to a real brochure. (Ex: Food and Attractions - things to do while there.) The brochure needs to attract a person who wants to travel to pick it up and want to travel to that destination (real or made up). The brochure must fill the page and have a minimum of 4 colors. There must be at least two paragraphs about the place that can be traveled to and symbiotic relationships that exist at that location, written on the back of the page.

Symbiotic Cartoon The cartoon does not have to be funny. The cartoon can have up to 8 frames. (Like a comic strip in the Sunday newspaper,) The cartoon fill half of the page and have a minimum of 4 colors. There must be at least two paragraphs about the characters (at least 2 characters) and relationships in the cartoon, written on the back of the page. 4. Symbiotic Magazine Advertisement Create a magazine ad and identify the magazine (appropriate for teenagers or young adults) in which the ad would be used. The standard header or footer (page numbers/ title of articles) of the magazine must be placed above or below the advertisement. The ad must fill half of the page and have a minimum of 4 colors. There must be at least two paragraphs about the claims, selling points and relationships in the ad, written on the back of the page. Please include proper heading on the back of symbiosis assignment. The criteria for each assignment is underneath it. Make sure that you include all the criteria, so that you are able to earn all of the points. Bonus points will be rewarded when the assignment is above and beyond the criteria.
