Faculty of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Course Description This course provides an introduction to the analysis and design of modern control systems. The design process, from modelling to speciation of the control problem and controller design will be emphasized. Fundamental limitations of feedback will be discussed. Design via Root Locus, Frequency domain, PID techniques and design via State Space will be presented. In this course, computer-based analysis combined with a modern accompanying laboratory will provide a realistic setting for mastering several important design methodologies. Control Systems Design, Dr. Moayed syllabus

Laboratory Objectives
Islamic University of Gaza Faculty of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Course Objectives The goal of the course is providing the basic tools for the analysis and design of time invariant linear feedback control systems, both in frequency and time domain. It also provides the basic tools for numerical simulations of control systems by means of Matlab/Simulink. Laboratory Objectives The purpose of the laboratory in this course is to master computer aided control system analysis and design tools. Emphasis will be placed on real-world problems and applications. Control Systems Design, Dr. Moayed syllabus

Faculty of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Course Outcomes Students who successfully complete the course will be able to: Determine and use models of physical systems in forms suitable for use in the analysis and design of control systems. Demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of feedback control systems. Apply root-locus technique to analyze and design control systems. Design Lead, Lag, Lead-Lag and PID systems in control systems. Become familiar with instrumentation and software commonly used in industrial control development. Control Systems Design, Dr. Moayed syllabus

Islamic University of Gaza
Faculty of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Course Outcomes Improve skills in evaluating and communicating experimental results in a series of closely related experiments, model, and design. Complete a capstone project requiring the design of controls for a challenging control system (e.g., an inverted pendulum, ball and beam, or robotic arm). Modeling, design, and simulation topics from the course are applied and unified. Use MATLAB and Simulink in solving common engineering tasks. Communicate design results in written reports.
