2 Product Plotting Tool Development Overview
Concept was initially prototyped by JMA (2011) The proto-type common Bias Monitoring tool accessing thousands of jpegs daily to display the daily bias of data from instruments. Based on this proto-type, initial requirements were compiled and the first demonstration version was presented in the GSICS joint meeting in 2012 (Beijing). Additional requirements were specified with support from the GRWG in 2012 and these were implemented. In addition to this, the tools was regularly updated to support the changing ncml schema for the GSICS products. Finally, requirements were specify so that it can be use as a THREDDS viewer and these have been implemented (tool was updated to process the invocation URL issued by THREDDS when it is selected from the data set’s meta-data page). The tool is now ready for its first operational release in 2013.

3 Plotting Tool can be accessed from the s GSICS Servers
Quick Demo by me (THREDDS) & Tim (Plotting Tool).

Now A Demo BY TIM!

5 What Next (in order of priority)?
Anomaly fixing ? Updates for new GSICS products although it is recommended that a common ncml schema should be used if possible. New requirements ?

6 1st Ideas for new requirements?
Currently only Re-Analysis Correction Could include Near-Real-Time Correction Need to coalesce daily files (doable) Could include unsmoothed daily results Need whole new sub-directory with daily results

7 2nd Ideas for new requirements?
Now plots bias in brightness temperature By including Radiance to Tb conversion radiance_to_brightness_conversion_formula: tb=((c2 * wnc)/LN(1.+(c1 * wnc^3)/radiance)-beta)/alpha Could include Look Up Tables Need to define standard variables/attributes What is needed for DCCs? e.g. Reflectance Bias, convert from radiance? Other ideas?
