Dates to Remember Every Tuesday, all assignments for ELA are due. There will also be a quick comprehension test over the story we read in class and the spelling test. Every Friday, there will be a Vocabulary test and Grammar quiz. Jan. 30-Feb. 3 – Homecoming Week Feb. 3 – Vocab/Grammar Test Feb. 3 – Social Studies WWII Unit Test Feb. 3 – Homecoming Dance Feb – PTO Carnations and Kisses Sale Feb. 7 – Spelling Test Feb. 10 – Vocab/Grammar Test Feb. 14 – Valentine’s Day Feb. 14 – Spelling/Comprehension Test Feb. 17 – Vocab/Grammar Test Feb – Mid-Winter Break Feb. 27-Mar. 3 – PTO Read-A-Thon Feb. 28 – Spelling Test Classroom News Happy February! January came and went. The students have been doing so well with their new homework contracts! Georgia Milestones Testing is approaching fast! We only have 8 weeks until we begin testing. We have a lot to still go over and more to review. To prepare the students for the GMAS, we are using Study Island for the new homework contract. If you do not have access to the internet or a working computer at home, please make arrangements for your child. I am available to stay until 5 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays, and arrive at 7:30 AM every morning. Don’t forget, there will be no school on beginning Feb. 20th-24th. Enjoy your Mid-Winter Break! What We’re Learning This Month English/Language Arts: This month, we will be alternating between Reading and Writing. Writing: “Research Writing – Learning to Properly Research” – 2/1-2/7 Reading: “Dangerous Crossing” – 2/8-2/14 Writing: “Persuasive Writing – Expressing an Opinion” – 2/15-2/28 Spelling: Will be posted on the Weebly from Tuesday until Tuesday of the following week. Social Studies: We will be finishing our WWII Unit and moving on to the Cold War. Please watch your child’s agenda for any upcoming quiz dates. There will be a note at least 7 days before the quiz.
