Teachers- Choose topics and curriculum options to meet the needs of their students and their own interests Students- Choose parts of assessments and are given the opportunities to demonstrate what they know, not what they don’t know

15 Junior and senior years, students study six subjects selected from the subject groups. Usually three subjects are studied at higher level, (2 year courses) and the remaining three subjects are studied at standard level (1 year courses). All three parts of the core—extended essay, theory of knowledge and creativity, action, service—are compulsory and are central to the philosophy of the Diploma Program.
