Assessments of and for Learning
Assessments provide needed feedback and communication Should be short in duration Clear in instructions Frequent throughout the process Two types of assessments: Formative- Students are evaluated during the learning processes and the focus in on improving the learning process Summative- Students are evaluated upon completion of the work and the focus is on the final product Examples: Formative: Final exam or test Summative: Minute paper, clicker questions, quizzes Units of our module and the real world examples utilized in the assessments and projects. 2.4 hour lecture 1.5 hour lab
