Reverse Engineering With Fischer Technik
2
Assembly Models
3
The purpose of this exercise is to reverse engineer a Fischer Tech part and then create an assembly model. Each student will be given a different type of part and have access to an assortment of measurement tools.
4
The student will determine which tool(s) to use and take all required measurements. The teacher must set the nominal sizes for any features that slide together. This will eliminate problems later on when assemblies are created with the reverse engineered parts.
5
Once the class has completed the individual component solid models, students will share all components with the class. If your facility has LAN technology, you can put all the parts on a shared drive, enabling students to easily build assemblies.
6
The students will create an assembly model comprised of Fischer Tech components. The device being modeled must have rotary parts or linkages that simulate a range of motion using the Drive Constraint function of the solid modeling package.
