3. Early Alert Systems and Retention
The Early Alert system is utilized as a tool for instructors to alert the retention staff of students who may be in danger of being academically unsuccessful. The system was fully implemented in January Before 2016, the college utilized an internal system that allowed instructors to alert the retention staff. The new system is utilized system wide across TCSG and is called TEAMS.
Preparation: In preparation for the transition, the college started internal trainings 12 months before full implementation
Implementation: During the first round of full implementation, open labs were utilized as a resource to train staff.

4. Academic Interventions
Upon arrival to the college, students are advised utilizing Degree Works. The student are provided a preliminary schedule for the duration of college attendance.
If the classroom visit is not successful, the student receives a second telephone call and and an additional classroom visit.
If no contact is made, the student receives documentation in Degree Works and during the following registration, the alert and support services are discussed with the student.
A wide range of academic interventions, such as tutoring, counseling, connection to community resource, and academic planning are methods used to stabilize students academically.
