Clear and comparable information so that learners and employers can make informed choices about post-16 further education and training. Performance indicators are based on the recruitment, retention and achievement of the learners.

Funding Funding is a source of income for the institution towards the learners course and to ensure the course runs for the time specified. The funding depends on the recruitment, retention and achievement of students.

Benchmarking and retention
In relation to accountability, benchmarking refers to the measurements of the quality of the institutions(colleges), policies, products, programmes and strategies. Colleges are benchmarked against retention ,recruitment and achievement. Is it fair to argue that if the above criteria is not successfully met or achieved, the accountability relies on the teacher?

Achievement Who is liable for the learners achievement?
Students? Teacher? Managers? Possible solutions- student evaluation forms, curriculum questionnaires.
