13 This power point presentation is one of my favorite assignments I have been able to do for any of my classes. It means so much to me because I did it with my fiancés 8-year-old son Jackson. Jackson is always asking about my homework and I am always asking about his. We have been helping him research Thomas Edison for his school research project and when he found out that I was using power point this week he insisted he do a power point presentation on Thomas Edison. I am so proud of him. He had a list of topics that his teacher had given him, from draw a picture of your person, make a collage, or do another visual of your choice. At first, I wasn’t sure how well this would go because he is in second grade and I wondered if it would be too challenging for him. Much to my surprise we both had a great time working on this power point. He is presenting his project this Tuesday to his class and he has asked that I come and watch. I know that he is very proud of his accomplishment, just as I am of both of us. Although I had to help him quite a bit with the technical parts of the presentation he caught on very quickly and by the end of the presentation he knew how to add slides, bullets, information, and pictures on his own. This project is geared towards second graders and I am really excited to watch Jackson present it to his class this Tuesday. I feel like Jackson went above what was expected of him and think that it is great that we were able to share this assignment.
