Kindergarten Class Motto: Be Kind, Be Careful, Be Caring, and always do our best.
Class Goals: For each child to acquire the skills to become a life long learner. For each child to work to his/her fullest potential on daily basis. For each child to learn to make decisions that are the best for themselves and those around them. For each child to be a kind person and share that kindness with others.

Daily Schedule Arrive and prepare to begin our day
(8:20am) Walk to learn Opening, Attendance, Flag Salute, Calendar, etc. Language Arts Centers/Independent Work Physical Development Story Mathematics/Social Studies/Science Self Select and special projects Closing news, notes, reminders, review our day, prepare for lunch or home. Dismissal MTTh F 2:20 p.m. W 1:20 p.m. ****If your child’s departure plans change from his/her regular departure plans, please send a written note or call the office.

Odds and Ends Homework Folders: Given Friday/ Return on Thursday
Library Books: Pending Grading: Stars, Stamp Absences: Call office or note Share Day: Girls (Tuesday) and Boys (Thursday) Report Cards: Parent Conf. is end of 1st quarter and report card given at end of each quarter. Please avoid: Flip flops, umbrellas, high heels, toys, etc. At Risk/Retention: Proactive vs. Reactive Birthdays: Small individual treat bags from birthday child ( no peanuts) Color Day: Old River spirit wear or school colors (We suggest every Friday) Label Everything Field Trips: Pending Questions, Comments, Concerns

Volunteers/Parent Helpers
Sign-up sheets for each class Projects at home Volunteer to bring items – notes will be given What you do: individualize, TLC, praise, encourage, reinforce concepts, review, recheck Practice basic skills: cutting, name writing, numbers, etc. Prep work: cut, trace, fold, staple, correct Art/Paint Please let us know if you need to cancel.
