2 What is McCarthyism? A movement started and perpetrated by US senator Joseph McCarthy It also means the “practice of making unfair allegations or using unfair investigation techniques in order to restrict dissent or political criticism. The term McCarthyism is often used to describe the fearful time in U.S history.

3 Who is McCarthy An American Politian who served as a U.S senator from the state of Wisconsin in from 1947 until his death in 1957 His actions led to the second “Red Scare” *Red Scare* = associated by communist He was a lawyer, judge and politician He was the senator of Wisconsin and politician of the Untied States.

4 Where did everything take place ?
McCarthyism took place in the U.S during the late 1940’s -1950’s He became one of the most prominent figures in the Anti-comunists scare, his actions led the the second Red Scare.

5 What was the effect on the nation, people and economy
It had been widely Publicized Many lost their jobs; upset Education was a concern , which was bad Destroyed image of country It was a threat on the American way of life It was a put down to “ Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” The economy was effected most, a huge amount of people lost their jobs and were unemployed. Many considered it a threat to the phrase “The right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.”

6 When did McCarthyism end?
It ended in a year of 1954 McCarthy accused department of state and other gov’t. agencies. Ending in the year of 1954, McCarthyism ended when he accused department of state and other government agencies being full of communists.
