Easter – The Dawning of a New Creation!! Genesis 1:1
“Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark….” ~20:1 “the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep” (Genesis 1:2) "All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it" (John 1:3-5)

Cross as “Tree of Life” “The LORD God caused every tree that is both beautiful and suitable for food to spring up out of the ground. The tree of life was also in the middle of the garden, along with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” Genesis 2:9 "When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the TREE and laid him in a tomb" Acts 13:29

“When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and he and his disciples went into it.” John 18:1 “Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb where no one had ever been laid” John 19:41 (Only in John) “So they took Jesus…to the place called the place of a skull…. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus in the middle John 19:17-18

When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, "Woman, here is your son, and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.” John 19:26-27 *man & woman not named* “She shall be called Woman” Gen 2:23 “The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living” Gen 3:20 Jesus final act = changes the relationship (disciple to son) John 1:11-12 (blood & water 19:34 = birth) 20:17 – “Brothers”

“thinking he was the gardener…” John 20:15
“It is finished “ 19:30 = ushers in a “special sabbath” John 19:31 ”By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” Gen 2:1-2 “thinking he was the gardener…” John 20:15 Ironically correct!! John 20:22 17:20-23!
