Entry standards for exceptional performances (1 Nov 2018) Athletes qualified through World Rankings as at 6 Sept 2019 For 10000m, Marathon, RaceWalks, Relays & Combined Events longer period from 7 Mar 2018 to 6 Sept 2019 For all other events from 7 Sept 2018 to 6 Sept 2019 (52 weeks) Area Champs results will always count towards World Ranking tables

Changes of training methods—> adaptations for more competitions Preparation for major Competitions—> selection is close to deadline Competition planning & performance strategy—> Qualification Vs Champs Double events—> Hard task (need good results) Importance of access in good competitions/meetings U23 & Medium/Entry level athletes will need extra help for long-term development

Athletes, Coaches and MFs will have to adapt quickly IAAF and AREAS must secure and monitor a fair and transparent system with access to competition opportunities EA have to lead and assist the “adjustment” process of new system All stakeholders must help with comments and proposal on an ongoing basis Extra attention to U23 & Medium/Entry level athletes competitions

Find balance in the categorization of the various levels of competitions We must work together with meeting organisers and athletes representatives for a new European one-day meetings system MFs must create good level competitions/cups/matches Whether European Athletics will follow this qualification system for Major European Competitions in near future?
