Catapult By: Carolyn Chung, Sophia Hartwig, Gabby Pollack, Alexis Steffe

2 Our Materials Our Original Catapult 2 chopsticks 15 popsicle sticks
Roll of tape 5 long rubber bands 5 short rubber bands 3 spoons

3 Our Original Plan Our original plan was to put at least 5 or 6 popsicle sticks as the platform for the catapult. After taping them all together, we would add a short rubber band to act as the force for the launch, placing the half of a chopstick to represent the peg to pull back the rubber band. Placing the regular length of the chopstick will support the spoon. The spoon will hold the item (marshmallow, eraser cap, etc.) and pulling back the rubber band to fling the item across the room and will hopefully hit its target.

4 Our Improvements Instead of using the “peg” and the rubber band, we launched the catapult by hand. We made that decision because the catapult launched farther and easier by hand than with the rubber band. We took away the pegs to hold the rubber band and added one under the spoon for support. This helped the catapult function better.
