2. February 11, 2014 – Daily Journal Topic – …15 minutes…
Describe the oldest person you know. OR
Describe the youngest person you know.

3. February 11, 2014 We are going to write a funny story…..
I’m going to give you the questions, you are going to answer them in the same wording & sentence structure they are presented….
…you have about minutes….
Do this in your journal…
If you have time…..illustrate your story….
…it doesn’t have to be the whole story but could be just part of the story or a particular character….
….get CREATIVE! 

Why did you go there?
Describe the two people who are with you.
Why is your spaceship damaged?
When you decided to leave your ship, how far did you walk?
What were you looking for?
When did you realize that someone was following you?
Describe the creature.
While you were running away, you tripped and fell. What happened?
What was the big surprise at the end of your story?

5. February 12, 2014 – Daily Journal Topic – …15 minutes…
. Imagine you worked at a football stadium. What would your job be? (examples: quarterback, cheerleader, coach, referee, ticket seller) Describe what you would do while you were on the job.

6. February 12, 2014 Oulipo N+7 Poetry!! How does it work?
You replace the nouns in a famous poem with the seventh noun that follows it in the dictionary!
Let’s go through the directions….

7. Oulipo directions…
In your poem, identify the nouns in each sentence or line. If you're not sure, highlight the word any way; when you use the dictionary you'll find out.
Start re-copying the paragraph from the beginning and when you come to a highlighted word look it up in the dictionary.
Once you find the entry count seven nouns down from there. If the word isn't a noun, skip it! Not all the entries will be nouns, so you might actually move 10 or more words away from the original one until you find the seventh noun. Lots of words in English are used in multiple ways, like  "dear", which can be an adjective or a noun. Just be flexible and have fun!
Continue replacing nouns this way until you're done.
Read it out loud to get the effect of the changes you've made! Is there something there that sounds great on its own?
