Task- Build Your Own Vocabulary List
Form- stanza, free verse, lyrical Sound- rhyme, rhyme scheme, alliteration, assonance, rhythm, meter, internal rhyme Imagery- simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, understatement, oxymoron, onomatopoeia, idiom Types- sonnet, haiku, limerick, narrative, elegy, ode Level One- K.I.M. Chart- see teacher. Level Two- Create Vocabulary Flow Chart showing relationships between words and meanings. Level Three- Create a study guide for the words you need to know- along with one of the following: memory cues, an explained simile, or examples.

Vocabulary Flow Chart Vocabulary flow chart- poetry should go in the middle. Chart should have the following: All the words Define only the words you do not know. Give examples of words you do not know.

Closing Closing- Share some of the words you did not know and how you clarified their meaning.
