If a terrarium is a model of the real world, what do you see outside that reminds you of the plant in the the terrarium? The soil? The water droplets on the lid? What do you think would be needed for the turtle to stay alive without removing the top? Explain in your journal:

A terrarium is a model of the real world. The plants are like our trees and other green plants, the soil is like the earth, and the water droplets are like clouds ready to drop rain on the earth. The turtle would probably need more plants to produce more oxygen for him to use. Can you fill in the blanks on the next page?
