2. Additional Information: WRITING A JOURNAL karsrrsrkMNt;ehtuRbcaMéf¶ A lot of language learners find it helpful to keep a journal in which they write down what they feel about their lessons and their language learning experiences. They use what they have written as a basis for discussion with their teachers. Do you think this would be useful for you and/or your teacher? In the journal extracts, the writer have Described what happened (Verb tenses) Given reasons for their feelings (Because..) Described their feelings (Adjective..ed/ing) Made suggestions (I think we should…I’d like to…Why don’t we….)

8 Other suggestions for writing a journal (p.16: ILona Leki)
Get a binder to store all your entries. Begin each entry on a new sheet of paper. Date each entry. Write in a place (no interruption). Relax and let your mind empty itself. Once writing, keep writing continuously for 15’. Write legibly and leave plenty of space for comments. Use the suggestions given. After 15’, go back and reread what you wrote. Do this three times each week and keep all your entries. Note that journal writing includes observations about life around you, about yourself and others. Descriptions of significant events , insights, memories, thoughts and opinions.
