November 2018 Staff Edition Countable Athletically Related Activity Reminder Out-of-Season (8 hour segment) All countable athletically related activities outside the playing season are prohibited during institutional vacation periods. In-Season (20 hour segment) Countable athletically related activity limitations do not apply during institutional vacation periods, except they cannot take place between midnight and 5:00am. Special Seating During an Official or Unofficial Visit Q: May a PSA enter a hospitality area (e.g., recruiting room, suite) before or after a home athletics contest? A: Yes Q: May a PSA enter a hospitality area during a home athletics contest? A: Yes, however, during the conduct of the contest the hospitality area may not have sightlines to the playing surface. Q: May a PSA be on the sideline or the field/court before or after a contest during an official or unofficial visit? Q: May a PSA be on the sideline or the field/court during a contest? A: No Spot the Violation And One is a freshman basketball student-athlete that initially enrolled at UAlbany at the beginning of January. Classes for the 2019 spring term have not yet begun at UAlbany, but And One is registered for 14 hours and has been certified as eligible for competition by the NCAA Eligibility Center.  Since classes have not yet begun, is And One permitted to participate in competitions prior to the first day of classes? Two Week Dead Period A reminder for all fall sports concluding their seasons in the coming weeks, that beginning with the day after their season has ended, the entire team must have a 14-day dead period. Although, it is permitted to have end of season one on one meetings with your student-athletes during this period.

The forms can found on the compliance tab of our UAlbany sports website. Below is a quick summary of some of the eligibility standards transfers must meet: 2yr Transfer (Q) 2yr Transfer (NQ) 4-2-4 Transfer (Q) 4-2-4 Transfer (NQ) 4yr Transfer Complete 1 full time semester Graduate from 2yr school Attend for 1yr after leaving 4yr. After 1 semester – 6 credits Transfer an avg. of 12 credits per term Complete at least 3 semesters Graduate from 2yr school. After 2 semesters – 24 credits Earn a 2.5 transfer GPA After 3 semesters – 30 credits 48 transferable credits (6-Eng, 3-Math, 3-Science) Transfer an avg. of 12 credits per term (6-Eng, 3-Math, 3-Science) After 4 or more semesters – must meet PTD requirements Spot the Violation Answer: The first person to the correct answer with the proper bylaw will win a gift card to Starbucks!!
