Revising Check opening and closing for all required elements – look at outline for a list Can you identify all required elements of the body paragraphs? If not, add what’s missing. Does each argument paragraph link back to the claim? (that’s the So what?) Did you cite all evidence?

Editing Transition at the start of each paragraph – boring or sophisticated? Transitions within paragraphs – the same ones over and over or variety? Boring or sophisticated? Did you use compositional risks? Add some. Did you use precise words? Remove simple, boring words and replace with precise, sophisticated words. Use vocabulary related to the topic when ever possible

Editing & Proofreading
Check your homophones Make sure pronouns refer to someone/something (watch for too many they, them. Say who they and them are.) NO PERSONAL PRONOUNS – I, me, my, we, us, our, you, your Formal tone – no slang, no contractions, no idioms Space after punctuation, between sentences Capitalize proper nouns and first word in a sentence. End mark punctuations inside quotation marks. “Like this,” not “like this”.
