Budget for 2018 not looking favorable due to $4B deficit
Attempting to get Budget office release funds to hire additional staff at SED

Eric Suhr’s replacement continues; Interviews have taken place but no candidate found as yet
Jhone- Candidate should not only have CTE background but be politically astute to work directly with Governor’s Cabinet and the Economic Development Teams in the State.

Aneda shared concerns from her region with Edgefactor and the CTE Strong videos:
Perception CTE in Status in NYS
Concerns student dress and shops seem to reinforce these negative stereotypes in EdFactor Videos
Access to the site- not user friendly
Need updates to the website
We need to provide them with specific details for improvements
Jay will be collecting infomation to share with EdgeFactor

6. Jon Metz- Conference Updates
Emphasis on Leadership for CTE - very specific
Including rollout of updated CTE Admin Handbook
Pre-Conference- Meeting needs of Special Ed Students in SpEd
SREB- New Admin/Potential Admins
Request- Social Media for Admins
2019 Conference- Location to be Determined
Leave the Desmond- Convention Center? Other Hotel? Still to be Determined
Desmond - purchased by Crown Plaza- redesign in planning stages

7. Topic Reports NYS CTE TAC Josh Davis- Work Ethic 200+ Attendees
SWD in CTE Workshops
Assisting with other zones as needed
Training on SREB Teacher Induction Model so TAC can assist; Zones can have the info turnkey

8. SED Update Revised Assessment list- posted sometime next week
NYS Cosmo NOCTI- not on list due to NOCTI not submitted
CTE Teacher licenses - being studied to modified to from current 7-12
Nail Tech Update Training- Completed
Nocti Cut Score vs Excelsior Credit- what should be used as the passing scores?

9. SkillsUSA Update
Fall The Desmond- went well

10. NYSACTE CDOS Standards are looking to revised
Pushing to have a CTE Rep on the committee
Possible Name change to CDOS Credential
Principal Project- 1 CTE Prinicpal from NYC on the committee
Career Pathways- Work in progress- more than just test substitution
