1. Advisement for the 2018 – 2019 School Year

2. What is advisement?
The time for you to meet with your guidance counselor and go over your classes for the next school year in accordance with graduation requirements and your post-secondary plans.

3. When?
This month, counselors and advisors are meeting with students in their 1st block classes to:
Review their academic course recommendations
Assist students with elective and alternate selection in their Infinite Campus Student Portal

4. How are classes for next school year chosen?
Academics
Course and level are chosen by current-year academic teachers
Electives
Chosen by students utilizing the Academic Planner in their Infinite Campus Portal

6. Things to Consider Foreign Language is NOT required for graduation
HOPE GPA
Can be checked anytime by logging into GAfutures.org
Completing a pathway in an area of interest
Requirements for Dual Enrollment and Work Based Learning
AP Courses
Possible New Elective Courses for Next Year

7. What Happens Next?
Students may make elective and alternate changes in their portal until February 28, 2018
Parents can view their student’s recommended academics and elective requests through Infinite Campus Parent Portal (but can not make changes).
On March 22 a Course Verification Sheet will be sent home with students for review
Lists recommended and selected courses
Requires student and parent signature
Must be returned to school by March 28, 2018.
